The Resurrection…

It’s been two years since I started this blog in order to document our first family trip to Disney World, and I thought it only fitting that we resurrect it in order to document this year’s trip as well.  A few changes:

1. There will be a lot more of us going this time.  11 total (Kevin/Jennifer & kids, David/Tracey & kids, Granny/Grandaddy/Papaw)

2. We will not be going exclusively Disney this time.

Our itinerary for the week looks like this so far:

Saturday, July 3: Leave Staunton @ 8, destination: SC

Sunday, July 4: Leave SC, destination: Orlando

Monday, July 5: Resort day (swimming, tennis, beach, etc.)

Tuesday, July 6: Magic Kingdom! (breakfast @ Chef Mickey’s, dinner @ Crystal Castle)

Wednesday, July 7: Resort in the morning, dinner and nighttime show @ Sea World

Thursday, July 8: Sea World in the AM, resort afternoon

Friday, July 9: Resort day, cleaning up, packing to leave

Saturday, July 10: Leave Orlando, destination Atlanta, GA

Sunday – Tuesday (July 11-13): ATL with Aunt Amanda and Uncle Bobby

Keep watch for pictures, videos, and more!!  We’re all very excited!

Monday in Atlanta

Hey everyone!

Today was a good day.  We made good time from Clearwater to Atlanta with no problems!  I will try and upload some pictures from Clearwater tomorrow afternoon.

We’re headed to the Georgia Aquarium tomorrow morning, which should be lots of fun!  I’ll get some pics there too.

Home on Wednesday, and we’re all ready!  Audrey even asked Jennifer today if we were going home.  I know we’re all ready to get back to a “normal” routine and especially to sleep in our own rooms/beds!  Yay!

Live from Clearwater Beach

Hey everyone, here’s a quick update:

Yesterday was a bit frustrating because we got way off track on our way to the beach, so what should have taken an hour or two took us almost four!  Well…we’re here, nonetheless, and we’re having a blast.  The beach is beautiful, as you saw in the video, and the kids love it!

I’ll upload some more pictures soon!

See you on Wednesday!!

Thursday night pictures and more

Here’s a video update:

And here are the pictures I promised:

There’s so much more to show and tell, but I don’t have enough space!  Unfortunately, as always, something got left behind.  This time it was the video camera charging cord…sooo….I haven’t gotten any video since Wednesday night.  I guess pictures will have to do!

Tomorrow we leave for the beach, but not before hitting Downtown Disney and doing some souvenir shopping.  We’re taking orders now!  Shipping and handling charges apply!  Ha Ha Ha!

Love you all!

Pictures and more from Tuesday

This morning was breakfast with Mickey!  Then we were off to Hollywood studios, where we met Buzz Lightyear and Woody, saw Playhouse Disney Live, and watched Beauty and the Beast in a huge outdoor theater.  But the highlight of the morning was of course…..Lightning McQueen and Mater!!!!

This evening, we went to Epcot to eat dinner “Under the Sea” and ended up running through a torrential downpoor to get there!  It was worth it as we got the chance to eat while watching real sea turtles, stingrays, and sharks swim by in the huge aquarium that adjoins the restaurant.  We then took the time to visit The Seas with Nemo, which Audrey wants to ride again first thing in the morning!  Hopefully we’ll get to Talk Time with Crush as well!

See you again soon!

Halfway there!

Well, we’ve arrived in Georgia, and in just under 12 hours!  Seems like a long time (and it was) but with two meals, a fill-up, and a pit stop…I’d say that’s not too bad.  It’s nice to be “at home” with friends for the night.  We’re hoping to make the drive to Orlando tomorrow in less than 8 hours, but we’ll have to see!  Make sure to check our itinerary to see where we should be each day and night, and make sure you subscribe by email so you can know as soon as we post new stuff!

15 Hours to Go!!

We’re all exhausted from packing, but eagerly anticipating our departure tomorrow morning!  This is a test to see if my videos are going to work.  I’m not only trying out some new web concepts, but learning Mac software at the same time!  I should be  pro by the end of the week!!  Wish me luck!

Our Itinerary (tentative, of course…)

Okay, here’s the rundown on the itinerary for our trip:

Saturday, July 12

Leave from home and travel to Atlanta to stay with “Aunt” Amanda. We should arrive there by dinner time.

Sunday, July 13

Leave Atlanta and travel the rest of the way to Disney World! Dinner somewhere at Downtown Disney.

Monday, July 14

Magic Kingdom! We have to go find Mickey first, of course, not to mention Cinderella’s castle, Aladdin’s flying carpets, and all the other wonderful things there are to explore. Here is definitely where all the magic happens! Dinner at Cinderella’s castle!

Tuesday, July 15

Disney Hollywood Studios! The Little Mermaid, Buzz Lightyear, Playhouse Disney, and, of course, we need to keep our eyes peeled for Lightning McQueen and Mater!! Lots of air-conditioned shows and the park’s a bit smaller, so it should be a lighter day. Dinner at the Coral Reef (underwater dining!).

Wednesday, July 16

Animal Kingdom! This would also be a lighter day. Our biggest priority is the safari adventure. Lots of cool animals to see! Late morning and all afternoon will be relaxation and hanging out in the guitar pool at our resort! Dinner at Tony’s Town Square (of Lady and the Tramp fame) in the Magic Kingdom and stay for the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular!

Thursday, July 17

Epcot! Lots of cool scientific and futuristic things for daddy! Nemo and Friends! And, of course, our trip around the world! Dinner with the princesses at Akershus Castle! Parade and fireworks to end the night!

Friday, July 18

Our last day at Disney :-( but a chance to wrap up loose ends and go back to all the things we missed or wanted to do again! Dinner is at Hollywood and Vine and priority seating for the Fantasmic! show to follow! That should be a great ending to a wonderful week!

Saturday, July 19

Pack up and head out from Disney to Clearwater, FL on the Gulf coast. Should be there by mid-afternoon.

Sunday, July 20

A lazy day at the beach and around Clearwater. It’s also Granny and Grandaddy’s 40th wedding anniversary (and they’ll be with us!), so I hope they enjoy it!

Monday, July 21

Leave Florida for a return trip to Atlanta. Should be there by dinner time again.

Tuesday, July 22

A little sightseeing in Atlanta to include the Aquarium. Dinner out with “Aunt” Amanda and “Uncle” Bobby.

Wednesday, July 23

We’re on our way home! A bittersweet end, you can be assured.
